When we were all grounded to our rooms during peak-covid 2020, Jolene missed travelling so much that she started to make books that brings back those beautiful landscapes seen through lattice windows.
Since then, she hasn't stopped creating functional art for customers in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
From Tokyo, Japan, Maya found her passion in handmade paper in 2016 while studying at the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan.
Her work is process-oriented, exploring tactility and surprises that happen when working with natural materials. She has exhibited in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Rome, Milan, and New York.
